The Brighton based artists have followed up their successful debut collaboration track, Tru Luv, with a passionate banger about an unfulfilled desire to escape the mundane. Another Day combines Elle’s powerful vocals with JED’s illustrative storytelling to create a song which is simultaneously melodic and melancholic.
Elle’s captivating voice immediately sets a somber tone for the track, delivering the line “Another day, another day I see the same old street” with the expository emotion which she continues in the poignant, compelling and catchy chorus. JED’s verses tell the story of a man ignoring a desire to leave his hometown and turning to his vices to escape mentally rather than physically. Gut wrenching lines like “Tom Places a bet, John rolls up a note/ That’s just where you look when there’s nowhere to go” are packed into the concise storytelling.
JED says this track is the beginning of a new creative direction, “I’m starting to write a lot more about the culture I grew up in, both the good and bad. Another Day was the first I wrote in that vein and it really set the tone for the rest of the upcoming EP.”
Another Day comes just over a month after the pair’s first collaboration, Tru Luv, which was supported by the likes of DJ EZ, Kiss FM, Rinse FM, Reprezent Radio, BBC Radio Devon, Trickstar Radio and many more. Additionally he has been picked up for interviews, reviews and premiers by Wordplay Magazine, GRM Daily, The Pit London, EDM Nations, The Music Essentials, Brighton Source, Dusty Organ and Music Arena. JED & Elle continue to build recognition and excitement around their names, Another Day will no doubt add to this growing buzz.
