Following up on last year’s acclaimed collab with Nigerian tastemaker King Perryy on “Move It,” UK house maestro DJ S.K.T now gains further momentum reworking the feverish tune “Tight Condition.” They’re joined by London based, globally performing phenomenon DJ Yuki, resulting in a mesmerizing piece of dance music, featuring lively percussion and feverish, pitched up vocals embedded in an upwinding, oldschool house beat. Such a wonderful blend of sensual sounds and organic rhythmics, making this threesome one of the most hot blooded tunes this season – out now on Spinnin’ Records.
DJ S.K.T has built quite the reputation for the last decade, having dropped several classic club tunes like 2013’s “Right Before My Eyes” and 2015’s “Take Me Away.” As he continued to go from strength to strength with his weekly radio show on KISS FM, he kept on par with contemporary vibes, playing key shows at the biggest clubs and festivals, while exploring fresh house sounds with his own productions – last year reaching a next highlight with the widely supported “Move It,” mixing his vintage club style with King Perryy’s afrobeat melodics.
Now, he returns on this afro fueled ride, calling in the club expertise of fellow UK/Nigerian artist DJ Yuki, who nicely taps into her musical roots with this gem. Enjoying an incredible rise to fame since her first releases in 2021, she’s performed at the most spectacular venues, including Club MTV Dance Tour, the Monaco and Abu Dhabi Grand Prix events, and London Pride.
Known for her eclectic style, DJ Yuki is able to turn on any crowd, whether with straightforward house, hip hop, disco or pop infused tunes. She’s gained over 10 million streams already since her first releases in 2021, including successful bootlegs like Rema’s “Woman,” Erica Banks “Buss It” and MoStack Ft. Stormzy “Shine Girl,” which were huge and supported by Diplo a.o..
Hot on the heels of her 2023 hit records “Chances” (alongside Kate Wild) and “Push It” (with Movada, featuring Lena Leon), the increasing appeal of DJ Yuki is now lit upon one of Nigeria’s most notorious artists, as she joins forces with DJ S.K.T for an excitingly fresh rendition of King Perryy’s hit tune “Tight Condition.”
Released earlier this year as part of King Perryy’s Continental Playlist EP, the song immediately stood out as one of his strongest efforts to date. Having made waves since the late 10’s with several inventive new tunes, mixing today’s afrobeat with pan-African sounds as well as catchy reggae/dancehall ingredients, King Perryy knows how to create something fresh and unique. It’s the ‘Continental Sound’, as he aptly describes it, racking up millions of streams and dedicated followers.
Now, his music turns another chapter, as “Tight Condition” is brought into a highly charged club groove. Clearly touched by DJ S.K.T and DJ Yuki for a sturdy tech and deep house treatment, you still recognize the original’s sensual vocals and hot blooded African rhythms. In this new guise, though, the vocals are pitched into feverish levels, creating a more temperamental groove, which comes to full maturity when it drops into a strong four-to-the-floor beat. With the vocals looped into this punchy yet percussive rhythm, the result is as upwinding as it is hypnotizing, setting off on a hot blooded ride across afrobeat spirits, latin sensuality and a deep, oldschool house energy. It’s what promises this record to resonate with audiences worldwide; a daring new approach of “Tight Condition” that’s bound to turn into a club classic on its very own account.
