Following up on their highly acclaimed 2023 collab “Tonight,” Australian phenomenon Timmy Trumpet and mysterious DJ/producer POLTERGST have now joined forces with Naeleck for surely one of this year’s most resounding revamps. Expect classic vibes, as the Far East Movement and The Cataracs’ 2010 smash “Like A G6” receives a massive hyper rave makeover, with the original’s vocals and electro bass chords drenched in a raw, uptempo groove, letting out some soaring acid energy. Approved, supported and re-recorded by KSHMR himself (one half of The Cataracs), this first official remake of “Like A G6” has got momentum written all over it – out now on Dharma

“Like A G6” counts as one of the 2010’s biggest dance tunes. Featuring vocals from US singer Dev and The Cataracs, the single was a breakthrough for Far East Movement, effectively providing the burgeoning EDM generation with a resounding anthem. The song hit the charts all over the world, including #1 on the US Billboard Hot 100, and still sparks excitement at today’s festival crowds, counting 677 million Spotify streams as we speak.

Never officially cleared for a remake, the song was recently bootlegged by Timmy Trumpet and anonymous act POLTERGST, with additional production by French DJ/producer Naeleck, leading to quite an astonishing piece of work.

In this new version, the original’s vocals and punchy electro chords are taken into hyperdrive, with a relentless beat pushing those world famous hooks to a fresh 2024 limit. As the guys further explore contemporary soil, “Like A G6” explodes with furious acid chords, moving away from the original’s hip hop influences, while adding some thrilling psy and hyper rave vibes.

When picked up by KSHMR and played at his shows, the bootleg gained further recognition. The former Cataracs member was even eager to put it out on his label and re-record his vocals for this first ever official remake.

Now, it’s finally here. “Like A G6” has maintained its reputation as one of EDM’s most effective tunes, and this revamp only emphasizes the song’s ongoing impact, now ready to dominate the upcoming festival season again.
