anieck is a multiple talent. After making his acting debut in 2004, playing the lead role in Dutch movie Pluk van de Petteflet, he also played parts in the movies Kruistocht in spijkerbroek and My Queen Karo.
Then, he changed his style. Kicking off a career as a singer-songwriter, he did a collab with Lost Frequencies, scoring a worldwide hit with their song ‘Reality’. Following this, he was signed exclusively to Spinnin’ Records in 2016, where he successfully dropped his solo single ‘Feel The Love’, a track that by now has amassed over 36 million streams on Spotify.
2016 was a special year for Janieck in many aspects. He performed for over 90.000 people at the Coca Cola festival in Rome, saw himself get nominated for a 100% NL Music Award and won several awards for ‘Reality’ and ‘Feel The Love’, including the renowned Buma Awards in Holland.
This year saw ‘Little Hollywood’, a collab between Janieck and Alle Farben, become a #1 Airplayhit in Germany; the single has also been nominated for the 1Live Award ‘Beste Single’ of 2017. By now, the record has racked up more than 35 million Spotify streams and provided Janieck and Alle Farben with various festival shows.
Janieck’s newest single ‘Does It Matter’ clearly underlines the artist’s talent as a singer-songwriter. Using the 90’s dance classic ‘Better Off Alone’ by Alice Deejay as a starting point, Janieck made it his own with a special, intimate song. ‘Does It Matter’ touches on the sentiment of the original, while turning into a completely new song, blending (acoustic) pop and dance music in a unique way.
