It looks like Facebook likes to copy a lot of Snapchat’s features. After introducing the Stories and the face filters, now the social media site is trying out a new “Streaks” feature on its Messenger app, that it’s really really similar to the Snapchat Snapstreak feature. Basically, it uses an emoji to let you know for how long have you been messaging a certain person.
Facebook has confirmed that they are testing out the feature, saying “for example, a lightning bolt may appear next to the name of a person you’ve messaged with for at least three days in a row, and a counter will indicate how many consecutive days you’ve been chatting. We’re interested to see if people enjoy this insight, but we don’t have any additional information to share at this time.”
