Having crafted a world of his own throughout the evolution of electronic music, Don Diablo has managed to re-invent himself with every new effort. While dropping his tunes across a multiverse of key labels, including his own illustrious HEXAGON imprint, Don Diablo hit another milestone last year, returning to Spinnin’ Records with a remake of one of his most beloved hit records from back in the day, 2016’s “Cutting Shapes,” and the following festival favorite “Let Me Love You.”
Now, Don’s back at the renowned label, making yet another surprising move as he teams up with up-and-coming producer MEARSY. Known for capturing the raw, organic identity of vocals, guitars and instrumentation, MEARSY re-dresses them with electronic drum loops and driving synths to create something fresh and new with elements of the familiar.
He already cut his teeth by writing and producing for artists including Meduza, Tiësto, Felix Jaehn, Vintage Culture and Alok, and is now stepping out of his studio to present his unique vision to the world. This was kickstarted last year, teaming up with Sophie and the Giants on smash hit “DNA.”
His indie approach works wonders as he kicks off 2024 with this mesmerizing Don Diablo collab. “Physique” sees the guys drop a sultry, UK garage inspired groove, built around warm synth chords and the imposing vocals of RBZ (known for his versatile work with acts like Yungblud, Felix Jaehn, HUGEL, Dubdogz, Alok, The Vamps & Steve Aoki, and many more).
The UK singer paints an emotionally charged picture here, laying down his rushed vocals with a spirit of living in the moment and partying all night as if it’s ‘never gonna stop’.
