Can we get a whoop whoop? We are thrilled to present Niki Sadeki’s debut release on Quetame, the label she helped build! It’s a blessing to work with her, and an honor to be selected as the platform for her surprisingly mature debut.

Maybe not as surprising after all, if you consider that she, as a DJ, has committed over a decade to exactly that: finding the right groove and making people dance their butts off. Niki, it was about time for your musical skills to join forces with your DJ instincts and manifest your visions in your very own pieces of art!

Reflecting on a chaotic year, and overcoming the storm of everything that life threw at us, Hurricane of Yesterday is about overcoming and powering through. It’s about facing the darkness and prevailing. It’s about having hope.

Her Fire is a seriously groovy tune with melancholic yet uplifting chord progressions, and a fat warm bassline that rolls underneath the beat. The song can easily be an anthem for a new chapter after times of isolation and hardship. Her Fire’s energy is hungry for new beginnings. It speaks to our deprived souls and invites our feet to a wild dance.
