Introducing ‘Virtual Events’ – another game-changing feature now available on Spotify as the platform continues to provide new ways to help artists promote their music and reach their fans.

If you haven’t already heard, here’s what you need to know about it…

The ‘Virtual Events’ feature was launched on 15th September as a way to help artists shout about their forthcoming virtual events and live streams – these are events that could take place on Twitch, Instagram Live, YouTube Live or many others.

To be able to access this new functionality as an artist you’ll need to do this through Songkick which is a live stream concert discovery app, and/or Ticketmaster, which also allows you to list your events. Once your events are listed on these partner platforms, your artist events will be featured in the Concerts Hub and also on Artist Profile. Also, by adding them to Artist Pick you’ll be able to give specific events an extra push through your Spotify profile.

On top of all of that, Spotify will be emailing out personalized virtual event recommendations to listeners based on the artists they love. This means you could have an extra channel through which to notify your fans about your next big event.
