This weekend i had the pleasure to listen and review Marian Klose newest EP called “The Common Potoo” and i really love it, mostly because of the original approach and the overall sound design.
“Defined”, the first single, is part of Marian Klose’s EP “The Common Potoo”, an EP that shows the soothing sound of nature in a new way. While his latest release has already been listened to more than 350,000 times on all streaming services, Spotify being the most important, his fan base is growing steadily.
“Defined” has a certain old school and retro vibe, perfectly combined with a modern and unique sound design, going slightly into the future house/electronic zone, genre wise.This tune right here is an excellent blend of influences, exploring a mixture of old school dance vibes and modern house beats. The track is given additional depth with the addition of pads and synth lines in the main section before descending once more into a more minimalist beat, focusing mainly on the beat and baseline.
Packed full of attitude and unquestionable atmospheric groove, “Defined” wades smoothly through hypnotic pads and gently rising chordal elements, whilst infectious vocals glow like polished rubies shining vibrantly atop Marian Klose’s composition.
