Making another surprising move in their ambitious resume, acclaimed duo Karma Child brings a delirious ode to Irish folk music, adding sweet electronic vibes to the aptly titled new single “Irish Man” The guys show no restraint, as they fuel up the floor with characteristic violins and upwinding lyrics before dropping into a high-spirited beat, filled with vintage melodies and catchy vocal hooks. Following earlier pop tinged hits, Karma Child proves its versatility once again with this “Irish Man,” out now on Spinnin’ Records.

Karma Child is the unique gathering of forces between Afro Pop tastemaker Joe Hike and music industry notoriety Marwen Tlili, known for his work at Atlantic UK and management agency Boy From The Beach. Together, they’ve created a niche of their own, blending smooth electronic rhythms with a certain post-pandemic joy wrapped into organic sounds and tasty pop hooks.

Their wildly different backgrounds have led to a series of striking tunes, including 2020’s claim to fame “The Best Days” (feat. Tabitha), 2021’s “Drivers License” and this year’s popular disco styled tune “Celebrities.”

Now, in yet another unexpected move, Karma Child brings out its folk guise, letting its “Irish Man” take the stage alongside sweet rhythmic strings and vintage harmonics. In the best Irish tradition, the song tells a tale of a broken heart and a woman’s love for ‘a buskin man in Dublin city.’  While the story and its accompanying melody sound timeless, the beat that is dropped brings nothing but contemporary dance bliss. Emphasized by strong bass lines and that sparkling violin rhythm, the punchy kicks and tech house percussion provide a burst of energy, ready to ignite the floor.
