A couple of months ago, we found out that SoundCloud hit some bumps on the road, when it was unveiled that the service closed two of its offices and fired some of its employees. Also, it was stated that SoundCloud only had enough money to survive a few months. After the news came out, CEO Alexander Ljung approved $170 million in emergency funding, in a hope that things will start to look better after all.
Now, European streaming platform, Deezer, that launched in the United States last year, says that it would buy SoundCloud at “the right price”. The statement was made by CEO Hans-Holger Albrecht, who shared his thoughts with Reuters. Now, it remains to be seen if anything would come out of this, so stay tuned for more!
