Hi Meetch, how are you?

Doing great guys! Thanks for the interview.

Can you start by telling us how you get your creativity flowing? Do you have any tricks that help you to get into the creative mindset?

I always like trying new things. Though I feel I am not at that level yet where I can do something within a song that is so abstract that it will resonate with people. My creativity goes a little further out that I wish it did – I have so many little pieces and unfinished projects. I just like to start with a blank slate sometimes. I will go listen to some new trending songs or even what is doing well on apps like TikTok. I want to get inspired from music that people have fun with.

What do you do if you feel uninspired?

I always feel terrible when I start something, and I can’t even get past a day with working on it. I just need to take a break sometimes and step away from my studio. When I’m uninspired, I try not to force myself to become inspired. I want it to happen more naturally.

Are you ever inspired by other creative mediums like films, literature, or art?

Sometimes movies inspire me. I’ve always had this urge to create music for film and do more postproduction. It would be something that I would fall back on for sure. I love to try and have a “cinematic” aspect to my songs.

Do you have any creative hobbies?

Aside from playing music constantly and snowboarding in the winter, it’s a little hard for me to have another hobby when music has basically taken over my life ever since I was a kid. I’m not upset about it, because I know it’s all working out the way it’s supposed to.

How do you get inspired to create? Do you look for inspiration or is it more of a natural process?

There is no step-by-step process for me. I have to just feel in the mood to get started. Then I start getting more and more inspired as the project moves on.

How do you wind down after a busy day of creating?

Honestly, I go play Halo on Xbox with my friends. I have an Xbox and only have one game on it, Halo. I have been a Halo fanatic since it first came out in the early 2000’s. My favorite game ever and I will never get tired of it.

Do you have any advice for budding Producers struggling with creative ambition? Has anyone shared any words of wisdom with you when you have felt musically unmotivated?

No one has really given me any words of wisdom when it comes to the producing aspect. But I think I would just tell people to take things slowly and reach out to other people for help on projects when you can’t figure it out. Another perspective can help tremendously I believe.

What about your studio space makes you feel inspired to create?

Well, I styled the room and have the gear that really makes you feel like you’re in a studio when you walk into the room. I wanted to build a room that feels like something you’ve walked into in NYC or LA. So, just the ambience of my studio makes me feel good when I want to start something new.

To end, can you share how you stay inspired? How do you keep your creative motivation high?

I like to go to shows that I’m not performing at to see what other people are doing and watch the crowd from the opposite perspective than being on stage. I want to see the type of reaction they have when songs they’ve never heard, or different styles are played. And of course, listening to new music when I’m driving. Sometimes it’s just a tiny synth or sound that I hear within a song that opens up my mind to something new. Playing shows also keeps my motivation high. When I know I have a few shows coming up, that really keeps me amped. So, I can’t wait to continue to do that. It’s a natural high.
