The countdown begins with only 3 days until the 20th Anniversary edition of EXIT Festival kicks off in Novi Sad!  EXIT will be first major festival in Europe to take place after pandemic opening it’s gates on Thursday, July 8 and welcoming more than 40,000 daily visitors from more than 70 different countries. The two-time champion of Best major European festival will take place at the stunning Petrovaradin Fortress overlooking the river Danube. It will run for four days, from July 8 to 11. An all star line-up is led by David Guetta, DJ Snake, Tyga, Sabaton, Charlotte de Witte, Paul Kalkbrenner, Solomon, Amelie Lens, Maceo Plex, Robin Schulz, Asaf Avidan, Satori, Boris Brejcha, Honey Dijon, Hot Since 82, Medusa, Paul van Dyk, DJ Topic, Artbat, Sheck Wes and many others. 

The list of international performers is also enhanced by the confirmation of one of the world’s leading techno DJs, Charlotte de Witte the legendary drum and bass artist Roni Size, the first international headliner of Exit from 2001 who will perform with EXIT favourite MC Dynamite and multi-award winning cinematic bass duo from London, Koven.

The program of this year’s EXIT will take place on more than 20 festival stages and zones, with two stages standing out – stunning Main Stage and the world renowned mts Dance Arena. The complete 4-day program runs from 7:00 PM to 8:00 AM, with an abundance of live streams that can be watched at Exit’s YouTube channel and Facebook page. The mighty mts Dance Arena is considered by many in electronic world as the best dancefloor on the globe. This July it will again feature tens of thousands electronic music worshipers, waiting as one for the famous sunrise moments over the fortress walls overlooking the Arena

EXIT festival will be the first major festival in the Europe to be held this summer, thanks to the security protocol confirmed by the Serbian National Health Committee. This protocol, which restricts entry to those who have been vaccinated, have antibodies after suffering from Covid-19, or are negative for PCR or rapid antigen testing. It is based on the latest scientific research conducted across Europe, which has shown that with these measures festivals can be the safest gathering places in the country. Last month, EXIT, together with other major Serbian festivals, supported the national youth vaccination campaign. Thanks to the succesfull mass vaccination the general epidemiological situation in Serbia has improved so much that there is decrease in daily numbers by 99 percent in last few months, while Novi Sad itself has been without new infections for several days in a row!

Audience interest in the festival has also exceeded expectations and is heading towards record numbers. According to the data of Booking.com and Airbnb, in Novi Sad, as much as 99 percent of accommodation has been fully booked for weeks. Apart from domestic guests, the largest number of visitors is expected from France, Germany, Slovenia, Turkey, Croatia, Hungary and the Netherlands. Almost all foreign citizens need a negative PCR test to enter Serbia, which will also be used to exchange purchased tickets for festival wristbands. EXIT provided free antigen test for all local guests. The organisers announced that the festival tickets will be sold out today, after which only a small limited number of daily tickets will remain on sale on festival gates.

The festival was founded in 2000 in the University Park as a student movement, fighting for democracy and freedom in Serbia and the Balkans. After Milosevic downfall in 2000, EXIT moved to the Petrovaradin Fortress in 2001. Social responsibility is still the key aspect of the festival activities, with the main focus on environmental and humanitarian activities, the creative industries development, as well as regional cooperation. EXIT has been praised by the leading international media as one of the best music festivals in the world.
