Lockwood Publishing, the award winning team behind the popular mobile game Avakin Life, has announced a 3-day in-game arena concert with DJ duo Lucas & Steve, with the opening night launching on Friday 6th November. As part of a wider series of live music events in the game called Spinnin Sessions, the concert aims to bring the best of physical events into a virtual environment so that audiences all around the world can still enjoy and benefit from all that musical talent has to offer, despite challenges thrown up for the industry by the pandemic.

The concert will feature four of Lucas & Steve’s most renowned tracks, including Another Life, I Want It All, Letters and When You’re Alone which will be played on loop by exclusive Lucas & Steve Avakins created specifically for the show. Users will be able to attend the single concert as many times as they like completely free of charge, and receive an in-game reward every time they do.

For those seeking an extra special experience, they’ll be able to purchase a backstage pass to the exclusive meet and greet area and enjoy all the perks that come with it. From posing with Lucas & Steve’s Avakins for selfies to receiving a signed virtual poster that’s only available for the duration of the event. A special area has also been designed within the concert arena for the Avakin community to meet and socialise, helping to provide more opportunity for people to develop meaningful connections in a social gaming environment.

Lucas & Steve said: “This year has been incredibly challenging for us as well as the broader music industry. That’s why it’s so incredible for us to have a platform to virtually play our music and meet with our fans across the world. Not only does it keep us connected, but it also breaks down barriers and in the process encourages the world of music towards greater inclusivity. Hopefully it’ll also inspire other artists to think creatively about ways they can benefit from virtual platforms to foster stronger bonds with their audiences.”

Halli Bjornsson, Founder of Lockwood Publishing said: “We all have memories of our first concert and that incredible atmosphere that always leaves the crowd wanting more. And now that the lights have been dimmed indefinitely in so many venues across the world as a result of the pandemic, we wanted to recreate that feeling in Avakin Life. We’ve always been committed to creating rich experiences that our community can enjoy and benefit from and the concert with Lucas & Steve is just one example of the power of social gaming and how we can bring the thrill from physical experiences into the virtual world.”

Next week’s event follows a series of music events as part of Lockwood’s Spinnin Sessions, including the opening of a brand new in-game music venue, Apex club with previous concerts from Firebeatz, Carta and much more.
