A-Trak has just revealed that he will be putting on a DJ and beat-making competition, which will be called The Goldie Awards. For this one, him and his label, Fool’s Gold teamed up with TMWRK, THUMP and Noisey. The competition will reflect the limitless nature of today’s dance music scene, will be hosted by Dave East and will be judged by a panel made up of Diplo, Mija, Mannie Fresh, Destructo and more.
Applicants can already start submitting their videos online via Instagram and YouTube, using the hashtag #GOLDIEAWARDS, in order to be considered for the contest. After the preliminaries, 6 DJ’s and 6 producers will be picked to be judged on their skills on September 7 at Brooklyn Steel, NYC. If you want to check out the show, tickets will be available for purchase here starting with June 9.
